Talkshow “THE GOODNESS & THE BEAUTY OF VIETNAMESE CULTURE”: Preserving the Vietnamese Soul amidst the Global Rhythm
As part of the activities for the ISME Business Case Debate Contest 2025, the talk show “THE GOODNESS & THE BEAUTY OF VIETNAMESE CULTURE” took place on July 27, 2025, at the National Economics University. With the message “Preserving the Vietnamese Soul amidst the Global Rhythm,” the talk show provided a creative and open space for discussion on how to balance cultural preservation and development.

The talkshow is an important accompanying activity of the ISME Business Case Debate Contest. This is an annual academic debate competition organized by the International Training Institute – National Economics University with the aim of creating an intellectual platform for students aged 15-22 nationwide. Here, young people have the opportunity to develop critical thinking and analytical skills to find solutions to global issues and contribute to the realization of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2050.
The event was attended by two guest speakers highly experienced in inspiring knowledge about Vietnamese culture:
- Ms. Lê Ngọc Hà Thu – A multidisciplinary designer, co-founder of XAVAN, and a member of the Next Gen Assembly 2025. She pursues a model of sustainable cultural development, focusing on people and the environment rather than purely profit.
- Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Phương Đông – A researcher of ancient culture and author of numerous works such as “Kỳ công diệu nghệ” (Miraculous Masterpieces), “Mình đồng da sắt” (Bronze Skin, Iron Soul), “Dệt nên triều đại” (Weaving a Dynasty), etc. He is a pioneer in systematizing Vietnamese historical and cultural knowledge toward both popularization and academic rigor.

In this talkshow, participants will join the two speakers in a conversation about the content of balancing cultural preservation and development, practical stories from businesses and organizations operating in the creative-cultural sector; inspiring thoughts on identity and the applicability of Vietnamese culture in contemporary life; and gaining multi-dimensional perspectives on the topic of “Sustainable Culture” in the context of globalization, gaining a deeper understanding of Vietnamese cultural values, and developing critical thinking and multi-dimensional views on sustainable development.
Through an academic lens combined with practical experience, the talkshow “THE GOODNESS & THE BEAUTY OF VIETNAMESE CULTURE” is expected to provide participants with not only knowledge but also inspiration to understand and accompany the development of Vietnamese culture in the new era.
